Please see results page for full details. 6th May Don't forget, the monthly run and curry evening is tonight, Tuesday 6th May, at Rivers. 28th April The Club Kit order is expected to arrive on the 2nd or 3rd May. Sharkie will distribute at training next week. Please email him if you would like to arrange a pickup. 28th April A reminder that there is no training next Monday 5th May due to the bank holiday. Many members are racing at Hart triathlon so come down and show your support. 27th April For those mad enough or keen enough the open water swimming lakes have opened. TVT members have reported extremely cold water temperatures (11˚C - 13˚C). Details of local venues are available here 23rd April Derek will be away for the next 3 Fridays. Is any one able to act as Key holder to open and close the pool at Queen Anne'?. Even if you can only cover one of the days it would be helpful. Please email Derek. 20th April The Fast Twitch Triathlon series is underway in 2008. The first event with TVT entrants was Winchester a 400m swim, 20 miles bike and 6 miles run. Congratulations to Sharkie who finished 5th Male. In all there were 10 entrants from TVT and the results can be found on the results page. If you interested in entering one of the Fast Twitch series the website is http://www.conceptsport.co.uk 17th April Anyone looking to improve their bike times should note that the time trials have started at Maidenhead. TVT normally have a number of members out each week. The time trails are run by Maidenhead cycle club and details can be found on their website http://www.maidenheadcc.org.uk. The events are on Thursday nights with routes and start times varying. This is now starting to cause us a problem and we need your urgent help to fill
this role. 14th April Congratulations to Alex Golding who completed the London marathon 3:45:02. A 24 minute improvement on his PB. Congratulations also go to Howard Willis of TVT who completed the course in 4:34:02. 5th April Your webmaster is taken a well deserved holiday, so no updates to the website until late April. Please send any race results, reports etc to me by email and they will be included on my return. 31st March Congratulations to Mark Gittins on his third place at yesterdays Marlow Duathlon. Six TVT members entered (where were the rest of you? ). The results are available on the results page.
The monthly run and curry is tomorrow 1st April. Runner meet at Rivers at 7pm, curry is available from 20:15 onwards. Please email Derek Bowley in advance if you are attending so enough curry can be ordered. 25th March There is a new website for the Berkshire County Athletic Association. This is now to be found at:- http://www.berkshireathletics.org.uk/ and contains Track & Field information as well as the original Road Running details. 21st March A huge thank-you to Gareth for his contributions to the club as secretary and cross country organiser. He is leaving the club for warmer climates and we wish him all-the-best. His leaving leaves a number of unfilled positions in the TVT committee. Please get in touch if you would like to help out at your triathlon club.

The cross country session has finished. It turned out to be a great year with TVT moving up the league table to record a very respectable position against all the running clubs. We have certainly made the runners sit up and take notice. Thanks to all who helped out and ran. All the results, pictures and race reports are available from the Cross Country pages 19th March Thanks to Chris Kitchen for his "Basic Bike Maintenance" talk last night. The talks are planned to continue on the 3rd Tues of month at Rivers through the in the Spring and Summer although no presenters have been confirmed. Please check back here for the latest news. 16th March Cross Country has finished for another session. Thanks to all TVT members who have come out to race in the series. The results and report from the Bearwood race will be posted in due course. In the meantime please check out the other race reports for all the Cross Country races this season. Gareth does an excellent job with these and they are guaranteed to raise a smile. See the Cross Country pages for information 13th March There will be no swimming on Good Friday (21st) or Easter Monday (24th). Queen Anne's will be open this Friday 14th March but will not reopen until the 18th of April so please remember that. Nick Moore though will continue with running sessions on a Friday night except for Good Friday. 12th March AW Cycles are having our ‘get ready for summer’ club night on the 17th March 2008 6pm to 10pm. Everything in the store will be 20%off for one evening only! If that’s alone is not reason enough to come along, there will be plenty of refreshments and AW will be using the opportunity of having all of the areas best cyclists under their roof to launch the 2008 team AW Cycles line up. Bring your TVT membership card to be entitled to these savings 11th March Farnham Tri IM Weekend - Farnham Tri are holding an Ironman Training weekend on the 29th to the 31st March. There is choice of half or full distances or a mix: Swim Friday evening at 2100 Bike Saturday starting 1000 Run Sunday starting 1000. Full details are available on their website (http://www.farnhamtri.org.uk/). The only proviso is that you need to bring some helpers as well. So the more people taking part the more helpers. 7th March Club Kit: The order with our supplier is to be placed on the 21st March. Please see email for details or the club kit section of the website here. 5th March The club championship races have been confirmed at the AGM and are posted in the racing section of the website. These races will fill up so please enter early.
The club is looking for volunteers to help marshal at Concorde. Please get involved and email Ewan, race director at Tvtconcorde2008@hotmail.com. Those who volunteer early will get the pick of the jobs! Race day is the 17th August.

Members are welcome to attend a committee meeting to see how the club is run before making any commitments. 5th March Swindon Duathlon - 6 April 2008. Age Group Event And World Age Group Duathlon Qualifier 10k run, 40km bike, 5km run Do-A-Duathlon 5k run, 16km bike, 2.5km run. The only World Age Group Qualifier in the South/South West of England will take place at on 6 April in Swindon. The ever popular, Swindon Duathlon, now in it¹s thirteenth year, takes place at The Science Museum, Wroughton, Nr Swindon; just a five minute drive from junction 16 of the M4. This easy to reach venue provides a closed roads course for both the cycle and run sections on wide, fairly flat, ex-airfield runways and relief roads. The British Duathlon Ranking Series Event and World Duathlon Qualifier starts with a 10k two lap run with a couple of small inclines and a couple of out and back sections so you can keep an eye on the opposition, then a 40k, five lap, bike course with plenty of space for safe overtaking along with several interesting twists and turns to keep you on your toes and finally one lap 5k run. A course suited to both the experienced and new multisport competitor alike, which is open to anyone 17 and over who can cover the distance. There is also a Do-A-Duathlon for people new to the sport who just want to have a go, in a safe, traffic free environment open to anyone aged 15 to 90. A huge turnout for a bunch of triathletes with 20 club members identified so far! 27th Feb Results from the weekend for Big cow Duathlon II, Goring 10km and Metros cross country are available. Please see then results and cross country pages for details. 21st Feb Hairy Legs is back on May 11th and promises to be better than ever. Check out the details here. It is a local race that comes recommended by members. Based on last years demand, the Challenge is likely to be over subscribed by end March so we suggest you get in quick! Ful-On Duathlon has now been launched!! There is a link to their website is here. The event is on the 26th April and there is a choice of Standard distance: 5k run (2 laps) / 20k bike (4 laps) / 5k run (2 laps) and Sprint distance: 2.5k run (1 lap) / 10k bike (2 laps) / 2.5k run (1 lap). 20th Feb Thanks to Ken for a his talk on "Sports Injury and Healing" on 19th Feb. It was a good evening with a mix of theory and practical examples. The next talk, on the 18th March at Rivers, will be on "Basic Bike Maintenance" and is by Chris Kitchen. You do not need to bring your bikes. If you struggle to fix a puncture, or carryout regular bike maintenance then this session will be what you need. The talks are well attended and there is curry afterwards, all this for the price of a swim ticket. 11th Feb The next cross country is 24th Feb at Ruislip. See the cross country page for info. Results from all races these session have also been updated. A new London Half Marathon premiers in 2008. Please send details of any races for the season or results by email Queen Anne's school is closed on Friday 21st March, so there will be no TVT swimming. Running is TBC. 8th Feb Club Kit. A club kit order is to be placed shortly for the season ahead please check out the club kit page for details Club Championship results for 2007 and proposed races for 2008 are available. Check out the racing section of the website. 30th Jan The Club AGM is on Tuesday 4th of March at Rivers leisure centre - start time is 20:00. It is your club and this is your chance to influence how it is run and this will include the purpose and direction of the club as well as its finances and the members you want to run the club on your behalf. Additional details will be sent out nearer the time including confirmation of the Social Run preceding the AGM for those interested. The next Club Talk is on the 19th of Feb, once again at Rivers and is by Ken with a sports injuries based theme. Come along and learn something. There will be curry as part of the session and usual cost of a swim ticket or £3.50 applies. 6th Feb TVT come 5th overall in the Bracknell Forest cross country. The ladies team place joint 1st beating many running clubs, congratulations. Hart Triathlon is now full. Entry has closed. Marlow Striders Duathlon is filling up fast.
