All TVT members can have their race results published here.  Please email these to me an I'll be happy to add them.  I will automatically check the bigger races of the session but please make sure you enter under TVT so I can find you.  We are also looking for race reports this year.  Please send details of any races results, photos and reports to me by email

Your webmaster is taken a well deserved holiday, so no updates to the website until late April.  Please send any race results, reports etc to me by email and they will be included on my return.

05/05/08 - Hart Triathlon

The Hart triathlon has been the club’s sprint distance championship race in previous years.  Not so in 2008 but this didn’t affect the turnout from TVT members. 

I probably wasn’t the only person who woke early on the Bank holiday Monday morning opened the curtains and swore as steady rain was falling.  Quickly flicking on the BBC weather I was relieved to see that the rain would clear and it would be a glorious day.

With a pool swim there was a staged start list for the race.  Early starters were off at 9am with the faster swimmers starting closer to midday.  The competitors starting early had to battle the weather and puddles which had cleared for the latter starters.  The talk around transition focussed on an extra 100m run transition part way through the bike course, (Due to roadwork’s) and the cross country 5km run which looked pretty muddy.

The course comprised a 400m pool swim, 20km bike and finished with a 5km run (which was probably closer to 6km!)

The race results for TVT members were fantastic with the highlights as follows:-

Sharkie Jaggard wins the 35-40 age group category and was 4^th overall

Alistair Oakley wins the 45-50 age group category

Louise Bardsley finishes second in the women’s overall race

Nicola Threlfall finishes third in the women’s overall race

Joanne Lewis wins the 50-55 age group category

Paul Gittings wins the 50-55 age group category

Alan Lawrence finishes third in the 65-70 age group category

 Joel Winter set the fastest swim time of the day in 4:58

Sharkie Jaggard set the second fastest bike time of the day only 6 seconds off the fastest

3 TVT members in the top 10 overall men’s results and 6 in the top 20

4 TVT members in the top 10 overall women’s results and 7 in the top 20

29 TVT members finished.
